The Service Technician role at ABB involves executing service work in accordance with quality and safety guidelines while delivering exceptional customer service. The position focuses on identifying opportunities to improve customer operations and ensuring customer retention through effective communication. This role is part of the Electrification Smart Power division and primarily involves field service tasks, technical issue analysis, and training responsibilities.

  • Execute service work as per work instructions and ABB quality and safety guidelines.
  • Deliver quality customer service by planning and executing service work according to customer orders and expectations.
  • Identify opportunities to improve customer operations and eliminate pain points while on-site.
  • Perform field service tasks, identify technical issues, and conduct analysis through remote or on-site activities for certified service categories and products.
  • Prepare material lists needed for service activities and ensure all materials, parts, and equipment are available and of appropriate quality.
  • Act as a trainer for field service associates and customers when needed.
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, or equivalent military experience, or an Associate's Degree with 2 or more years of experience in servicing critical power equipment.
  • Consideration for candidates with a High School Diploma/GED and 10 or more years of experience.
  • Advanced ability to interact and communicate information at varying organizational levels (written and verbal).
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office products.
  • Moderate ability to self-project manage using MS Project or Excel.
  • Advanced ability to write test plans and reports detailing test results.
  • Candidates must have work authorization to work for ABB in the US.
  • Competitive salary range of $55,400 - $102,600 annually.
