Requirements

  • 2-4 years of previous customer service experience in field support.
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office and the Internet.
  • Ability to operate a cell phone.
  • Basic mechanical aptitude.
  • Previous experience working with hand and power tools.
  • Ability to read with comprehension and write documents in English.
  • Ability to perform basic math operations.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.

Nice To Haves

  • Basic electrical understanding.
  • Experience using test equipment and reading schematics.
  • Technical degree in Engineering where applicable.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical and application support for EnerSys products and services.
  • Follow all company policies and procedures including warranty, safety, environmental, OSHA, DOT Hazmat, and ISO9000.
  • Maintain a safe, orderly, and clean working environment.
  • Be directly responsible for company assets, including service vehicle, parts inventory, tools, laptop, and test equipment.
  • Maintain truck log according to state and federal regulations.
  • Work mainly in service center/shop, with potential travel to customer sites.
  • Maintain telephone or radio contact with supervisor for instructions.
  • Maintain records of performance reports.
  • Prepare new and spent product for shipment.
  • Load and unload trucks, operating material handling equipment as needed.
  • Replace defective parts, reassemble batteries, and fill cells with acid solution.
  • Read meters and adjust charge parameters to control current flow through the battery.
  • Perform discharge tests, evaluate results, and make necessary repairs.
  • Ensure day-to-day complaint logs and plan for site visits.
  • Track service cells inward and outward, updating daily.
  • Frequent visits to customers to maintain good relations.
  • Ensure calibration of tools as per due date.
  • Be willing to work varying schedules including nights, weekends, and public holidays.
