About The Position

The service tech is responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and resolving customer-reported product and installation issues to ensure all products meet the Company’s standards for functionality, safety, appearance, and overall quality. This role involves hands-on technical and mechanical work in the field, provides professional customer service during service visits, and collaborates closely with the Service Department to document issues, order parts, and complete repairs in a timely and efficient manner.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Experience in the home improvement industry preferred (windows, doors, carpentry, or related trades).
  • Moderate understanding of general technical and mechanical job functions required.
  • Ability to anticipate, diagnose, and resolve technical and customer service issues.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Proficient time management and ability to manage multiple service appointments.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Basic computer skills for reporting, documentation, and communication.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record required.

Responsibilities

  • Provide on-site service, technical support, and customer assistance during field visits.
  • Diagnose installation errors, mechanical failures, and product performance issues.
  • Repair, adjust, or replace products, components, or parts to restore proper functionality.
  • Install, configure, troubleshoot, and maintain company products and related equipment.
  • Communicate with the Service Department to identify needed parts and submit parts orders.
  • Produce timely, accurate, and detailed service reports documenting findings, repairs, and resolutions.
  • Maintain a professional, courteous, and service-driven demeanor when interacting with customers.
  • Meet scheduled appointments and respond to service requests in a timely manner.
  • Set up, operate, and troubleshoot tools, machines, and equipment in accordance with established procedures.
  • Adhere to all safety guidelines, company policies, and quality standards.
  • Perform general cleanup of the work area, including removal of debris, to maintain a safe and clean customer environment.
  • Adhere to all fleet safety requirements, including maintaining a clean and compliant company vehicle, safe driving practices, and the ability to remain insurable under Company policies throughout employment
