About The Position

Service Technician Landmark Ford East (Trucks) Inc. is a customer-focused automotive service center dedicated to providing top-notch vehicle maintenance and repair services. We are part of the Landmark Automotive Group of dealerships in Springfield, IL since 1975. We pride ourselves on delivering quality service with a commitment to customer satisfaction. We are currently seeking an experienced and certified Automotive Technician/Mechanic to join our dynamic team. Position Overview: We are looking for a skilled and certified Automotive Technician/Mechanic to diagnose, repair and maintain vehicles, primarily in the Ford Commercial Truck model line. As an Automotive Technician/Mechanic, you will be responsible for troubleshooting issues and fixing them, aiming to maximize reliability and functionality. An excellent technician is well-versed in complex mechanical or electronic systems of vehicles and has excellent problem-solving abilities.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical degree or certification is a plus.
  • Proven experience as an automotive technician/mechanic, Ford model experience highly preferable.
  • Current manufacturers designated certification a big plus.
  • Strong understanding of automotive technology and the latest diagnostic equipment.
  • Ability to handle various tools and heavy equipment.
  • Good communication skills and customer service oriented.
  • Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.
  • Physical stamina and strength for handling heavy parts and tools.

Responsibilities

  • Perform maintenance and repair on customer vehicles.
  • Diagnose issues and determine the best course of action.
  • Conduct thorough inspections and preventative maintenance services.
  • Utilize diagnostic tools and software to identify and rectify issues.
  • Collaborate with the service team to ensure efficient workflow and customer satisfaction.
  • Keep detailed records of all work performed and parts used.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
  • Adhere to all safety and environmental regulations and guidelines.
