About The Position

Join Our Team! – Door Service Technician Pay Range: $30–$40/hour + $2,500 sign on bonus No Auto Door Experience Required – We Train We’re looking for a mechanically and electrically inclined technician to join our team as a Door Service Technician. If you have experience troubleshooting mechanical and electrical systems and enjoy hands-on work, we can train you on automatic doors—even if you haven’t worked with them before. This position focuses on diagnosing issues, making repairs, and performing scheduled maintenance on door systems while providing great customer service along the way.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Strong mechanical and electrical skills , with troubleshooting experience
  • Ability to read safety rules, manuals, and instructions, and communicate clearly with customers and coworkers
  • Basic math skills and ability to read a tape measure
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to follow written, verbal, diagrammed, or scheduled instructions
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
  • Required to obtain AAADM certification (ANSI 156.10 & 156.19) within six months of hire
  • Frequently lift and move up to 100 lbs (team lift required for items 50 lbs and over)
  • Regularly stand, walk, reach, bend, kneel, crouch, climb, and balance
  • Work at heights using ladders to service doors and operators
  • Use hands for tools, equipment, and small components
  • Maintain close, distance, peripheral, and depth vision
  • Indoor and outdoor job sites
  • Exposure to moving mechanical parts and electrical components
  • Hot, cold, wet, or humid conditions depending on location
  • Job sites may include hospitals, pharmaceutical facilities, office buildings, and retail locations

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain door equipment, including automatic doors, entrance doors, closers, and hardware
  • Learn and diagnose faulty equipment by understanding how systems function and identifying the cause of failures
  • Complete service calls and scheduled maintenance based on customer needs
  • Work closely with the dispatch team to plan your day efficiently and account for your time accurately
  • Use tools and equipment safely and follow OSHA and company safety standards
  • Complete work orders using computer-based systems
  • Communicate clearly and professionally with customers, teammates, parts, and sales teams
  • Travel throughout the service area during the workday and drive safely between job sites
  • Maintain a positive, helpful attitude when working with customers, coworkers, and management
  • Support our safety programs and follow safe work practices on job sites, in the warehouse, and in the office
  • Perform work in a variety of environments, including indoor, outdoor, and varying weather conditions
  • Take on other duties as needed to support the team
