About The Position

Wastequip is seeking a Service Technician for their Phoenix, AZ location to meet current demand. In this role, the successful candidate will primarily work on Streetsweepers, Vacs, and Refuse trucks, providing warranty support and repair services to independent haulers, often on-site. Requirements

3+ years Truck mechanic experience
3+ years electrical experience
Ability to read and repair hydraulic systems along with electrical schematics and repair and diagnose connections of circuitry.
Show integrity, in self and in their work.

Nice To Haves

Some welding experience
Waste collection equipment knowledge

Responsibilities

Lay out, position, and secure parts and assemblies according to specifications, Automotive/Class 8 truck chassis hydraulic schematic and pressure evaluation.
Maintain vehicle functional condition by listening to operator complaints; conducting inspections; repairing engine failures; repairing mechanical and electrical systems malfunctions; replacing parts and components; repairing body damage.
Verify vehicle serviceability by conducting test drives; adjusting controls and systems.
Comply with state vehicle requirements by testing engine, safety, and combustion control standards.
Maintain vehicle appearance by cleaning, washing, and painting.
Maintain vehicle records by recording service and repairs.
Keep shop equipment operating by following operating instructions; troubleshooting breakdowns; maintaining supplies; performing preventive maintenance; calling for repairs.
Contain costs by using warranty; evaluating service and parts options.
Increase job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading technical publications.
Work closely with co-workers or other team members.
