About The Position

The Service Technician is responsible for the self‐directed effective repair of equipment at high levels of quality while exceeding customer expectations.

Requirements

  • Excellent mechanical skills
  • 3+ years of service technician experience preferred
  • Graduation from related diesel technology program preferred
  • Trade specific tooling including hand tools and pneumatic tools
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Ability to assemble and perform maintenance functions on equipment
  • Ability to use personal computers and various types of diagnostic equipment
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measurements using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals

Nice To Haves

  • 3+ years of service technician experience preferred
  • Graduation from related diesel technology program preferred

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose, inspect, recondition, repair, assemble and service equipment according to technical manuals in a timely manner, as assigned by the Service Manager
  • Document machine information and repairs completed on work orders including parts and fluids
  • Maintain a clean work area, as well as care for all shop tools, machines, and equipment
  • Maintain technical and product knowledge on all equipment serviced by the dealership
  • Safely operate all machines marketed by the dealership
  • Assist other service technicians as required by the Service Manager
  • Maintain positive and professional working relationships with coworkers, management, and vendors with a constant commitment to teamwork and exemplary customer service
  • Perform all other duties as assigned by management in a professional and efficient manner
  • Follow all safety rules and regulations and adhere to all policies and procedures as specified in company manuals and the employee handbook
  • Participate in all company driven communication efforts including department meetings, electronic communications (email and text) and other related efforts
  • Proactively seek and participate in available company sponsored training to develop skills and knowledge
  • Maintain prompt and regular attendance according to department and company policies
