About The Position

The Uftring Auto Group is expanding its award-winning service teams and is committed to the success of its team members by providing resources and opportunities for experience. The Service Technician is responsible for inspecting vehicles, diagnosing mechanical and electrical issues, performing repairs and part replacements, and carrying out routine maintenance procedures to ensure the longevity of automobiles. They will utilize diagnostic tools and follow manufacturer standards to identify and fix problems with engines, transmissions, brakes, steering, suspension, and more. The position offers tiered hourly pay based on hours turned, with compensation beginning at $45,000.00 per year.

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of auto mechanical experience.
• Goal oriented with the desire to complete tasks correctly the first time.
• Professional attitude and capable of talking with customers.
• Ability to perform all required functions of this position.
• Maintain a clean and neat personal appearance.
• Must possess a valid IL driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.

Nice To Haves

• ASE Certifications are preferred.
• Manufacturer or technical training is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Determine cause of malfunction through the use of test equipment, test drives, service bulletin information, and information supplied by customers.
• Review vehicle history files, perform repairs and provide service advisors with accurate information for repair cost, parts needed, and repair time.
• Document all work performed and applicable technical information.
• Maintain regular attendance at shop meetings and training.
• Inspect vehicles.
• Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues.
• Perform repairs and part replacements.
• Carry out routine maintenance procedures to ensure the longevity of the automobiles.
• Utilize diagnostic tools and follow manufacturer standards to identify and fix problems with engines, transmissions, brakes, steering, suspension, and more.
