About The Position

Description Responsibilities Diagnose and troubleshoot causes of malfunction of equipment from observation test based on hydraulic and pneumatic schematics and assembly drawings and resolve malfunctions. Disassemble equipment to remove parts and effect repairs. Examine any and all parts for general corrosion, defects, breakage or excessive wear whenever looking at specific reported issues on any unit. Order parts as required including fabricated parts. Install all parts according to instructions given, knowledge of unit being assembled and/or following drawings as required, including needed adjustments and alignment. Pressure test and function test repaired equipment to ensure it works to full specification. Operate cranes and forklifts to assist in assembly operations. Prepare hydraulic/pneumatic components and install hoses, fittings and fluids into the unit. Follow hydraulic/pneumatic schematics as required. Safely assemble and test blow-out-preventors (BOPs), packer stripper, risers and other pressure control equipment according to blueprints, engineering specifications, and customer requirements. Complete ECRs when engineering discrepancies are found including issues with the BOM. Maintain a professional attitude at all times and communicate regularly and clearly with customers. Comply with all NOV Company and HSE policies and procedures. Maintain a clean and organized work area, utilize safe work habits. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent, preferred. Must possess two (2) or more years general mechanical and/or assembly experience. Experience in oilfield pressure control equipment preferred. Mechanical problem-solving ability and troubleshooting is a must. Hydrostatic testing experience is a plus. Knowledge in blueprint reading and precision measuring tools (micrometers, calipers, height gages, indicators and various transfer gages). Must be competent in the use of basic hand tools and other tools such as torque wrenches, impact guns, hydraulic torque machines, and air tools. Must possess a basic understanding of hydraulic systems. Must be able to safely drive/operate a forklift and must be able to safely operate a crane. Must possess basic computer skills. Must be willing and able to work flexible shifts and changing work schedules on short notice. Must be able to communicate in English (both written and oral) as it relates to the job. Must be able to follow written and oral instructions. Must be able to read and interpret drawings, procedures, and specifications. Must be adaptable to a changing work environment, competing demands and able to deal with frequent change, delays or unexpected events. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
