About The Position

Felder Group USA is hiring a CNC Field Service Technician to support customers across the Eastern half of the United States. This role is best suited for a technician who is comfortable traveling, enjoys working independently in the field, and wants exposure to a wide range of CNC and industrial machinery. Most service trips involve 2 to 4 nights in a hotel, with travel coordinated by our dedicated Service Planning team. What the job actually looks like Field Service: Install, diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair CNC and industrial woodworking machines at customer sites across the Eastern half of the U.S. Perform machine startups, calibration, and customer handoff Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and CNC-related issues Recommend required spare parts and clearly communicate repair status Complete accurate service documentation and reports Work independently on most service calls, with technical backup available when needed Participate in trade shows, demos, and customer events as required Non-Field Service: Provide phone, email, and video technical support from the New Castle office Support machine demos alongside sales staff Set up, test, service, and repair machines in the showroom and warehouse Assist with general organization and cleanliness of service and showroom areas Scheduling, flights, rental cars, and customer coordination are handled by Service Planners so technicians can focus on the technical work.

Requirements

  • Experience in CNC service, industrial maintenance, or technical field service
  • Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills
  • CNC machine operation or service experience
  • Ability to work independently at customer sites
  • Ability to clearly communication with customers and internal teams
  • Comfortable with frequent overnight travel
  • Basic computer skills for service documentation
  • High school diploma or GED required

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with woodworking or industrial machinery
  • Exposure to CNC programming and automation
  • Familiarity with service ticketing or helpdesk systems
  • Experience recommending spare parts or follow-up service
  • Technical coursework or associate degree preferred, not required
