About The Position

The Service Technician / Mechanic role involves working with truck-mounted hydraulic utility equipment such as aerial devices, digger derricks, and cranes, as well as construction, mining, and farm equipment. Responsibilities include assessing, diagnosing, repairing, and replacing damaged or worn parts on various vocational and utility trucks and equipment. The technician will also provide maintenance to medium/heavy duty trucks, with a background in hydraulics and electrical being a plus. The position requires maintaining accurate records of parts, services, and labor, submitting work orders for approval, and performing all duties in accordance with safety best practices, including attending monthly safety meetings. Requirements

  • High school diploma or the equivalent
  • Experience with diesel, medium or heavy truck, or related equipment. (construction, farm, military)
  • General mechanical aptitude / knowledge of hydraulic, electrical, construction, farm, or truck
  • Basic Computer skills and ability to document repair activity.
  • Must hold a valid driver’s license.
  • Must have your own tools.
  • Physical effort to move objects and tools; frequent stooping, bending, squatting, and kneeling and a high level of dexterity.

Nice To Haves

  • Vocational Technical School or Military Wheeled Mechanic or related training a plus
  • 3 plus years maintenance and repair of Utility Trucks and Equipment.
  • Background in hydraulics and electrical is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Assess, diagnose, repair and/or replace damaged / worn parts on a variety of vocational / utility trucks & equipment.
  • Provide repair and maintenance to medium / heavy duty trucks, and background in hydraulics and electrical is a plus.
  • Assess, diagnose, repair and/or replace damaged or worn parts for variety of manufacturers of utility equipment to ensure quality standards are achieved.
  • Prepare and maintain accurate records of parts, services and labor to track costs so vehicles can be properly priced and reflect the value of quality offered by the company.
  • Submit all work/repair orders as required to a supervisor for approval to ensure budgets are maintained and costs of vehicle repairs accurately reflected.
  • Perform all duties in accordance with best practices for a safe work environment.
  • Attend monthly safety meetings held by Custom Truck One Source.
  • Other duties as assigned.
