Why you’ll want this role You’ll work hands-on with high-precision equipment, completing repairs that directly help customers stay efficient and effective on the jobsite—while building deeper technical expertise through structured training and daily collaboration. What you’ll do (day-to-day impact) In this role, you’ll repair and maintain Spectra Precision products, support customers and distribution partners, and help deliver technical training.

Requirements

  • 2+ years as a technician in a relevant industry (electronics, mechanical, auto, etc.)
  • 2-year technical degree or equivalent experience
  • High school diploma
  • Experience diagnosing and repairing electromechanical devices
  • Comfort with basic electrical theory and electronic test equipment
  • Strong organization and communication skills
  • Ability to follow written guidelines and service requirements
  • Ability to work independently and stay accountable to quality standards
  • Computer skills including databases/support tools and Microsoft Office
  • Strong phone skills—able to explain repair steps or laser setup clearly
  • Experience conducting instructor-led technical training seminars

  • Salesforce.com knowledge is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Repair Spectra Precision products within established repair times
  • Read, understand, and follow repair instructions, service guidelines, and requirements
  • Maintain strong daily attendance (on-site / in-office)
  • Clean and finish products to cosmetic standards that meet customer expectations
  • Participate in service training (classroom + hands-on bench training)
  • Document repairs, steps taken, and quality assurance checks
  • Track part numbers and quantities consumed in repairs
  • Support and facilitate instructor-led technical training courses
  • Achieve established productivity metrics
  • Maintain a < 1.5% repair return rate (because quality matters here)
