Requirements

  • Required certification from the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to handle refrigerants.
  • Required certification or associate degree from an HVAC program at a technical school.
  • Strong verbal communication skills; ability to explain complex HVAC issues to customers in an understandable manner.
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Must possess a valid state driver’s license.
  • Punctuality and adherence to a daily schedule with multiple appointments in various locations are essential.

Nice To Haves

  • Preferred 3-5 years of experience.
  • Previous on-the-job training is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Travel to client locations daily as scheduled.
  • Conduct consultations with customers.
  • Assess customer needs and discuss various solution methods.
  • Install new heating, cooling, refrigeration, and ventilation systems.
  • Inspect existing HVAC systems for effectiveness and safety.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on HVAC systems to extend their longevity.
  • Conduct performance tests using specialized tools.
  • Troubleshoot issues with current HVAC and refrigeration systems.
  • Repair damaged HVAC and refrigeration systems.
  • Maintain records of customer appointments and payment transactions, including invoices.
  • Keep an accurate inventory of all equipment and HVAC resources.
