The Audiovisual (AV) Service Technician is responsible for troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing commercial AV systems in corporate, healthcare, higher education, and government environments. This role requires strong technical knowledge of AV hardware, control systems, signal flow, and networking fundamentals. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of five (5) years of hands-on AV service experience, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to independently diagnose and resolve complex system issues in the field. Essential Functions Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair audiovisual system issues including audio, video, control, and network-related problems. Perform service calls for installed AV systems including conference rooms, boardrooms, training rooms, auditoriums, and video conferencing environments. Configure, troubleshoot, and maintain AV control systems such as Crestron, Extron, Q-SYS, Biamp, and similar platforms. Identify root causes of system failures and implement corrective actions efficiently. Perform firmware updates, device configuration, and system calibration as required. Read and interpret system drawings, signal flow diagrams, and schematics. Document service activities, findings, and resolutions in service ticketing systems. Provide preventive maintenance services and system performance checks. Coordinate with clients, project managers, and engineering teams to resolve technical issues. Provide technical support to end-users and offer system operational guidance when required. Maintain service tools, test equipment, and spare parts inventory. Adhere to company safety policies and industry best practices. Participate in on-call rotation as required.
