Requirements

  • Solid understanding of residential plumbing systems, including water supply lines, drainage systems, venting, and gas piping
  • Proficient in diagnosing leaks, clogs, low water pressure, fixture failures, and equipment malfunctions
  • Skilled in repairing and installing faucets, toilets, sinks, water heaters, garbage disposals, and other plumbing fixtures
  • Ability to interpret blueprints, building plans, and technical diagrams
  • Knowledge of local, state, and national plumbing codes, along with strong adherence to safety standards
  • Comfortable using plumbing tools such as augers, drain snakes, inspection cameras, soldering torches, and pipe-threading equipment
  • Prior experience as a residential service plumber (2+ years preferred) with a track record of performing accurate repairs and successful installations
  • Experience diagnosing, troubleshooting, and resolving plumbing issues independently
  • Background working directly with homeowners or clients, providing professional communication and customer service
  • Proven ability to complete service tickets, estimate materials, and manage time across multiple jobs per day
  • Experience working in crawl spaces, attics, tight areas, and varying residential environments
  • Strong problem-solving abilities with the patience and skill to identify root causes and implement lasting solutions
  • Detail-oriented approach to repairs, ensuring accuracy in leak detection, fixture placement, sealing, and system testing
  • Self-motivated and dependable, capable of working independently without constant supervision
  • Excellent communication skills — able to explain repairs, present options, and ensure customer understanding
  • Physically able to perform demanding tasks including lifting 50+ lbs., climbing ladders, kneeling, bending, and working in varied weather conditions
  • High level of professionalism, integrity, and commitment to quality workmanship
  • Safety-focused mindset with consistent use of PPE and proper procedures
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
  • Ability to pass background and drug screening (if required by company policy)
  • Willingness to participate in occasional on-call rotations, if applicable

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with mobile dispatch systems, service apps, or digital ticketing tools (preferred but not required)

Responsibilities

  • Provide exceptional customer service, answer homeowner questions, and explain repairs and maintenance
  • Install, maintain, and repair plumbing systems and fixtures including pipes, valves, faucets, toilets, bathtubs, dishwashers, and water heaters
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot leaks, clogs, pressure issues, and system malfunctions
  • Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance to ensure safe, efficient operation
  • Respond to emergency calls such as burst pipes, major leaks, and severe blockages
  • Document all work performed and maintain accurate service logs
  • Ensure all work complies with plumbing codes, safety standards, and inspection requirements
  • Keep tools, equipment, and service vehicles organized and properly stocked
