About The Position

Thalhimer is seeking a skilled Service Technician to join their team at Riverpoint Apartments in Norfolk, VA. This full-time role involves maintaining the quality of apartment homes and ensuring residents enjoy a well-maintained living environment. The position offers competitive pay, generous benefits, and a $1,000 sign-on bonus. As a Service Technician, you will be responsible for the efficient maintenance of the Riverpoint property, covering tasks from completing apartment work orders and turnovers to performing repairs on HVAC systems, plumbing, electrical systems, and appliances. You will also maintain common areas, property buildings, and pool areas, contributing to the overall upkeep of the community. The role involves a mix of routine and unexpected tasks, with a focus on customer service and responding to emergency maintenance requests.

Requirements

At least 2 years of maintenance experience in a residential community or similar field
CFC and HVAC certifications are required
Strong background in plumbing, electrical systems, and general apartment maintenance
A valid driver's license and the ability to travel between properties if needed
Exceptional interpersonal and problem-solving skills
A positive attitude, strong work ethic, and a passion for hands-on work
Dependable, proactive, and takes pride in your work
Technical proficiency across HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems
Respond to tasks with urgency and professionalism
Stay organized
Consistently look for ways to improve the resident experience through timely, high-quality maintenance

Responsibilities

Completing apartment work orders and turnovers promptly
Performing repairs and preventative maintenance for HVAC systems, plumbing, electrical, and appliances
Assisting with the upkeep of common areas, property buildings, and pool maintenance
Demonstrating exceptional customer service in all interactions with residents and staff
Working with the team to ensure all maintenance tasks are handled efficiently and professionally
Responding to emergency maintenance requests as needed
Managing daily checklists, occasional tasks, and troubleshooting unexpected issues
