About The Position

The position of Service Repair Technician Tier 1 is a Service Department resource, responsible for the execution of a variety of work instructions to investigate, repair, and document Vapotherm product failures of field installed units. Additionally, this position will be expected to: Identify potential product quality and process improvements, control part inventory via an ERP system, and provide product technical support to other departments. Service Repair Technician Tier 1 is responsible for the documentation of work performed in service and/or production, to meet regulatory guidelines for ISO and FDA compliance. A Service Repair Technician Tier 1 should possess strong aptitude in troubleshooting mechanical or electromechanical devices, with a thorough knowledge of the operational parameters of the device being serviced. A Service Repair Technician Tier 1 needs to have excellent organizational skills, and must function well in a team environment. Versatility and an ability to adapt well to changes and system improvements is important. Excellent finger and hand dexterity. Willingness to perform duties outside service. Willing to train others in all aspects of the assembly operation. Demonstrate a positive attitude. Work safely and use good judgment to maintain safety.

Requirements

  • Service Repair Technician Tier 1 should have at least a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • 1 year experience in service/assembly or related field.
  • The ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
  • Experience using hand tools and working with small components.
  • The ability to accurately use measuring devices and record information.
  • An ability to follow detailed written work instructions for assembly.
  • Knowledge of common PC applications (Microsoft Office, etc.)
  • Experience operating a computer.
  • Familiarity with the use of test equipment.

Nice To Haves

  • ISO/FDA related work experience is ideal.
  • Experience using ERP, EPICOR is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Follow written and verbal instructions related to the repair, and documentation of Vapotherm products
  • Understand service procedures to meet ISO and FDA guidelines for compliance.
  • Use problem solving skills to investigate complaints from customers regarding Vapotherm products.
  • Demonstrate excellent attention to detail in the execution of work instructions, investigations, documentation, and data entry.
  • Adapt to changes in procedures, part revisions, and system improvements.
  • Use experience with Vapotherm products to identify product quality improvements, repair process inefficiencies, and cost reduction strategies.
  • Work in a team environment, with co-workers, engineers, etc. to carry out investigations and meet other company objectives.
  • Maintain the service area by providing general maintenance to test fixtures, gas supply manifolds, etc.
  • Perform activities outside of Service as necessary to assist other departments.
  • Provide training to others to create in depth technical knowledge and repair capacity at the Mesquite facility.
  • Ability to safely and successfully perform essential job functions
  • Ability to maintain reasonably regular, punctual attendance
  • Compliance with all personnel policies
  • Provide technical support to R & D, CAPA, Customer Service/Technical Service, and other departments as necessary.
  • Understand company policies, Quality System, and documentation requirements to meet FDA compliance.
  • Continuous execution of repetitive motion.
  • Frequent execution of lifting supplies and parts weighing at least 50lbs.
  • Must be able to alternate walking and standing during shift
  • Must wear required assembly protective gear while on the service line, including but not limited to a jacket, safety glasses, and hair net.
