About The Position

The Service Technician is responsible for repairing and maintaining company vehicles. This position also performs inspections on machinery and equipment and maintains the shop in accordance with company policies.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 1 year mechanical experience, working with heavy duty trucks and equipment
  • Proficient verbal and written communication skills
  • Attention to detail and high level of accuracy
  • Ability to obtain Forklift certification
  • Diesel Mechanic certifications or background working in truck repair & maintenance
  • The physical ability to immediately respond to emergency situations

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in Welding is preferred
  • Knowledge of fuel, heating and oil and/or lubricant industry preferred

Responsibilities

  • Perform vehicle and equipment maintenance to include but not limited to: Preventative Maintenance services, air brake repairs, annual inspections, tires repairs, electrical diagnostics, suspension repairs, etc. All in accordance to manufacture recommended guidelines.
  • Operate shop equipment and machinery in accordance with safety requirements.
  • Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
  • Notify Shop & Transportation Manager of equipment malfunctions.
  • Documentation of work completed to comply with DOT regulations.
  • Move products between stations and shipping area as needed. Including loading and unloading of rail cars.
  • Conserves maintenance resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results.
  • Performs and assumes other duties and responsibilities as may be required by immediate supervisor.
  • Employee must demonstrate safe work and risk management practices. Communicate and enforce all safety and security issues. Report and process all employee and/or customer incidents or unsafe acts in accordance with policy and procedure.
  • Employee is expected to set priorities and meet deadlines. Self-direction and motivation are also expected.
  • Must meet performance expectations and complete all duties as assigned.
