Summary/Objective Under limited supervision, the service technician - mechanic position performs work of considerable difficulty in the repair and maintenance of logging machines (harvesters and forwarders); performs related work as assigned.
Requirements
- Two year degree in heavy equipment technician program or three years of experience and/or training in heavy equipment repair and maintenance shop or any combination of education, training and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position.
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
- Ability to write simple correspondence.
- Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers and other employees of the organization.
- Speak English fluently.
Nice To Haves
- Hydraulics and electrical components
- Ability to read schematics
- Experience with acetylene and electric arc welding.
Responsibilities
- Diagnoses, rebuilds and repairs logging machines.
- Performs inspections and preventative maintenance of logging machines.
- Prepares and maintains records and reports.
