About The Position

The Service Technician role at Link-Belt Mid-Atlantic involves the maintenance, inspection, diagnosis, and repair of construction equipment machinery and components, primarily in a field setting. The technician is responsible for ensuring customer satisfaction through efficient and effective service, adhering to safety regulations, and maintaining proper documentation of repairs and parts used.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of related experience in diagnostic and repair work on construction equipment machinery.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and drawings.
  • Possession of a Commercial Driver's License (CDL).

Responsibilities

  • Perform maintenance, inspection, diagnosis, and repair of construction equipment machinery and components in the field.
  • Efficiently diagnose and perform field service repairs as directed, ensuring customer satisfaction.
  • Order and obtain all required parts, materials, and supplies necessary for repairs prior to arriving at the job site.
  • Identify and procure additional items needed after initial inspection and diagnosis.
  • Adhere to safety and environmental regulations during repairs and ensure the work area is cleaned upon completion.
  • Keep customers informed of completed repairs and communicate any issues found that extend beyond the original service call.
  • Maintain an adequate level of tools necessary for service requirements.
  • Document and maintain records of time spent on repairs, parts and materials used, and detailed descriptions of work performed.
  • Return all unused parts and materials upon completion of service work according to established guidelines.
  • Provide daily labor hours to the Service Manager or Branch Administrator for timely posting to work orders.
  • Prepare and submit expense reports and service truck mileage on time.
  • Ensure the service truck is maintained in good working condition and appearance.
  • Maintain a neat and professional personal appearance and ensure professional communication with customers and coworkers.
  • Notify the Service Manager of any tooling, shop, yard, or vehicle requirements or deficiencies.
  • Continue service training education to enhance knowledge and service capabilities.
