About The Position

The Service Technician position at Heller's Gas is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of propane tanks, supply systems, and gas-powered appliances. This role involves troubleshooting and ensuring compliance with safety regulations while providing excellent customer service. The technician will work primarily outdoors and must be prepared for various physical demands associated with the job.

Requirements

• High School diploma or GED
• Relevant experience preferred
• Familiarity with computers or mobile devices used in service
• Must obtain a valid Class C Commercial Driver's License with a Hazardous Materials endorsement within 60 days of employment
• Employment is conditional on verification of clean driving record, background check(s), and pre-employment/random drug testing
• Strong communication skills
• Technical and mechanical skills

• Capable of working independently
• Relationship management skills

Responsibilities

• Installation and removal of propane tanks and gas-powered appliances
• Installation and maintenance of gas piping systems including underground lines, above ground lines, and interior piping
• Diagnostic, maintenance, and repair work related to propane tanks, supply systems, and gas-powered appliances
• Perform inspections and leak tests of supply systems and equipment
• Maintain, repair, and refurbish company-owned equipment
• Prepare work orders, invoices, and other documentation related to work performed
• Understand all applicable federal, state, and local laws, regulations, and codes pertaining to the installation and maintenance of tanks and propane equipment
• Act as liaison between customers and service branches to address questions, concerns, or complaints
• Educate customers on safe and proper operation, maintenance, and safety procedures
• Inspect company vehicle daily and report issues in a timely manner
