Service Technician / Water Treatment Specialist
About The Position
Angelo Water Service is hiring a Service Technician with plumbing or mechanical experience to install and service residential water treatment equipment including water softeners, reverse osmosis systems, and filtration systems. This is a local field service position serving San Angelo and surrounding communities. A company service vehicle is provided during working hours. This is stable, year-round work serving local homes and businesses — no seasonal slowdowns or overnight travel. No prior water treatment experience is required. We provide training and will assist you in obtaining your Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) Water Treatment Specialist license within 90 days of employment. Ideal backgrounds include plumbing, HVAC, irrigation, appliance repair, oilfield maintenance, mechanical service, or maintenance technician roles. As a Service Technician, you will install, maintain, and repair residential and commercial water treatment equipment including water softeners, reverse osmosis systems, and filtration equipment.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- Experience in plumbing, HVAC, appliance repair, irrigation, equipment installation, oilfield maintenance, mechanical service, maintenance technician roles, or similar technical fields preferred
- Familiarity with PEX and some PVC plumbing helpful
- Mechanical aptitude and strong troubleshooting skills
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record (must be insurable)
- Ability to pass background check, drug screening, and WorkSteps assessment
Nice To Haves
- Experience in plumbing, HVAC, appliance repair, irrigation, equipment installation, oilfield maintenance, mechanical service, maintenance technician roles, or similar technical fields preferred
- Familiarity with PEX and some PVC plumbing helpful
Responsibilities
- Diagnose and troubleshoot water treatment equipment and plumbing connections
- Install, upgrade, and service water softeners, reverse osmosis systems, and filtration systems
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on Culligan and non-Culligan equipment
- Obtain a Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) Water Treatment Specialist license within 90 days of employment (company will assist with training and testing)
- Communicate clearly with customers regarding service performed and equipment recommendations
- Complete service documentation accurately and in a timely manner
- Maintain company vehicle, tools, and equipment
- Assist with deliveries of salt, bottled water, or equipment when needed
- Represent Angelo Water Service with professionalism and positive customer interactions
- Follow all company policies and safety procedures
