About The Position

The Service Technician to Sales Associate position at Crary Industries offers a unique opportunity for individuals passionate about agriculture and customer service. Initially, employees will work as service technicians, gaining hands-on experience with Lockwood products through in-house and field service work. After developing a solid understanding of the product line, employees will transition into sales roles, focusing on building relationships with customers and selling agricultural equipment. Requirements

  • High School graduate or equivalent.
  • Welding experience.
  • Working knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems.
  • Experience using large and small power tools.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical engineering documents and drawings.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Enhanced attention to detail.
  • Ability to organize and work independently.
  • Ability to comply with all company rules and regulations.
  • Ability to analyze, plan and make recommendations.
  • Ability to lift 50+ pounds unassisted.
  • Ability to stoop, bend and reach to full height.
  • Two years' experience with equipment repair preferred.
  • Proven field service experience with agricultural equipment.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with the cutting and welding of metal, or willingness to learn.

Responsibilities

  • Provide service and customer support during field visits or dispatches.
  • Inspect, diagnose, repair and service mechanical, electrical and electronic systems and components.
  • Manage all on-site installation, repair, maintenance and test tasks.
  • Produce timely and detailed service reports for engineering review.
  • Operate vehicle(s), machinery and use field automation systems in a safe manner.
  • Cooperate with technical team and share information across the organization.
  • Comprehend customer requirements and make appropriate recommendations.
  • Build positive relationships with customers.
  • Work within the research and development department to bring new ideas to life.
  • Be on call for service in MN/ND territory (100-200 hours annually).
  • Identify and call on all customers and potential customers of Lockwood for new, used or traded equipment within the assigned territory.
  • Maintain call quantity and quality to assure the development of a positive relationship with each customer.
  • Develop and maintain the sales skills necessary to sell a premium priced product.
  • Communicate the needs and concerns of the territory to management.
