About The Position

The Garage Door Service Technician at Banko Overhead Doors is responsible for the construction, installation, maintenance, and repair of overhead garage doors. This role involves working with various tools and materials, ensuring customer satisfaction through effective communication, and maintaining a safe work environment. Technicians are expected to operate company vehicles, manage inventory, and document their work accurately.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Proven experience in garage door service, construction, framing, HVAC, or a related field.
• Mechanically inclined with the ability to work on feet for extended periods.
• Valid and clean driving record for the past three consecutive years.
• Physical ability to carry/move objects weighing up to 70+ lbs.
• Ability to pass pre-employment background check and drug screen.
• Strong communication skills for customer interactions and upselling.
• Ability to read and understand directions and instructions.

Responsibilities

• Construct, install, and maintain overhead garage doors.
• Operate hand and power tools safely and effectively.
• Lift heavy materials and drive to job sites for assessments.
• Ensure garage door openers and electronic components are functioning properly.
• Communicate directly with clients to provide satisfactory customer service.
• Document work performed and maintain inventory.
• Safely operate company vehicle and maintain a clean work site.
• Review work orders for accuracy before departing job sites.
• Assist with commercial and residential garage door issues.
• Work closely with management to ensure job site readiness.
