About The Position

PURPOSE The Service Technician reports to the Regional Property Manager with a dotted line to the Director of Maintenance and is responsible for completing tasks that ensure the shopping center meets the company's safety, appearance, and operational standards. Service Technicians respond quickly and courteously to tenants, customers, and the public with requests for maintenance service and take appropriate action to repair and restore service within the quality and time standards established for the shopping center. The Service Technician is responsible for complying with the company’s and shopping centers' operating and safety policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • Minimum two (2) years of operational experience in the shopping center.
  • EPA 608 – Universal certification required.
  • Strong commitment to company goals and values.
  • Perform the tasks assigned in an orderly and timely manner.
  • Possess and continually improve technical skills in all areas of property maintenance.
  • Be committed to each associate's success as a team member.
  • Customer Service oriented.
  • General knowledge of all aspects of maintenance, repair, and service.
  • High School graduate: technical school preferred but not required.
  • Drug test, criminal/credit background check, and reliable transportation required.

Nice To Haves

  • Strong mechanical and HVAC background is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Regional Property Manager and Director of Maintenance and perform assigned maintenance tasks promptly.
  • Consistently answer “24 Hour On-Call” emergency maintenance requests promptly.
  • Make vacant and available tenant spaces ready to assist in property leasing goals.
  • Report any maintenance problems to the Regional Property Manager and Director of Maintenance.
  • Participate and perform ongoing preventative maintenance and improvement plans.
  • Regularly inspect building and site elements and notify appropriate departments of conditions, deficiencies, and work required.
  • Work with local authorities, tenants, and other related businesses to ensure the efficient operation of the site and building.
  • Maintain an effective relationship with other departments and personnel, outside contractors, tenants, and visitors to the shopping center.
  • Complete and follow up on service requests to assure the highest quality customer satisfaction and perform all other duties as may be assigned.
  • Responsible for preparing portfolio shopping centers for any emergency situations, including Hurricanes or other storm events.
  • Responsible for responding to post-emergency needs of the shopping centers in the event of a Hurricane or other emergency.
