About The Position

Reliance Truck & Equipment, an Owen Company, is an industry leader in the sales, service, rentals, parts, and support of Refuse Trucks, Truck bodies, and Street Sweeping Equipment serving the state of Texas from our location in Fort Worth, TX. An opening is available for a highly motivated, independent, and professional individual to join our experienced outside service group completing repairs and services on our customers’ equipment. Requirements

  • High school or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Class B CDL license or the ability to obtain
  • Hydraulic and electrical knowledge / experience
  • Strong communication skills
  • Self-motivated, willing to take initiative
  • Willingness to expand your knowledge
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Must have your own general tools

Nice To Haves

  • Strong welding skills are a plus
  • Diesel repair skills a plus.
  • Two years mechanical knowledge, preferred
  • Two years hydraulic experience, preferred
  • Two years electrical experience, preferred
  • At least one year of welding/fabrication, preferred

Responsibilities

  • Perform trouble shooting, mechanical repairs and PDIs (pre-delivery inspections) on a variety of heavy equipment
  • Conduct repairs in a timely and effective manner, communicating effectively with the Service Writer and Parts team to ensure optimal efficiency
  • Conduct regular preventative maintenance tasks and inspections
  • Communicate with Lead Hand and/or Service Manager regarding job progress and job status changes
  • Maintain organized and safe work area, shop tools and service van
  • Repair a wide variety of municipal type equipment
  • Diagnose, repair, adjust, and modify all specialized heavy-duty components. (On the job training will be provided on specialized equipment.)
  • Coordinating and installing custom equipment on new and used refuse trucks
  • Evaluate and refurbish used truck trade-ins
  • Perform DOT inspections
  • Maintain positive interface with location manager, coworkers, parts department and both internal and external customers.
  • Perform CCTV equipment repairs and diagnostic
