About The Position

The Service Technician is responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining residential and light commercial plumbing and HVAC systems with a focus on quality, professionalism, and safety. This is a client-facing role best suited for a self-motivated technician who takes pride in their work and delivers an exceptional service experience.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of verifiable experience in residential or light commercial plumbing and/or HVAC service.
  • Proficient with diagnostic tools, combustion analysis, refrigerant recovery, electrical troubleshooting, and hydronic systems.
  • Current Vermont gas or plumbing license strongly preferred (or ability to obtain).
  • Universal EPA Certification preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Experience using field service apps (e.g., Jobber, ServiceTitan, etc.) is a plus.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Ability to lift 50+ lbs, work in tight spaces, and handle Vermont winters.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours during peak seasons.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience using field service apps (e.g., Jobber, ServiceTitan, etc.) is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and repair a wide range of HVAC and plumbing issues, including boilers, heat pumps, water heaters, ERVs, AC units, water softeners, radon systems, and more.
  • Perform preventative maintenance visits for MasterCare membership clients and seasonal homeowners.
  • Clearly communicate findings, repair options, and service recommendations to customers.
  • Accurately complete service documentation using our field management software (Jobber).
  • Collaborate with dispatchers, office staff, and parts procurement to ensure timely and efficient job completion.
  • Participate in rotating on-call emergency service schedule for nights and weekends (additional pay).
  • Maintain clean, organized service vehicles and a professional appearance at all times.
  • Uphold all company safety protocols and adhere to local and state codes.
  • Mentor and train junior apprentices as needed.
