The Service Technician I is responsible for performing complex mechanical and electrical installation, maintenance, overhauls, and repairs of material handling equipment at customer facilities across the United States.

  • Provide excellent customer service by communicating with customers in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Collaborate with other team members to ensure that all service requests are fulfilled and customers' needs are met.
  • Perform mechanical and electrical tasks, including equipment installation, system configuration, software and network upgrades, trial runs, repairs, and overhauls.
  • Troubleshoot installation issues and perform corrective actions as needed.
  • Provide hands-on training to end users on the operation and maintenance of material handling equipment.
  • Conduct daily site inspections, Job Hazard Analyses (JHA), and safety checks.
  • Provide daily status updates to project management.
  • Interact professionally with customers, addressing service-related concerns and providing timely resolutions.
  • Travel up to 90% to customer sites nationwide to support installation, commissioning, and repair activities.
  • Provide remote technical support via phone and email to internal teams and customers.
  • Promote company service and support offerings; identify and communicate opportunities for additional services.
  • Enhance the company's competitive position and assist in ensuring relationships are maintained with key customer accounts.
  • Perform other duties as needed to support project installation and management.
  • 0-2 years of relevant work experience preferred
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to build and maintain positive customer relationships.
  • Demonstrated customer service orientation and professional demeanor.
  • Strong mechanical, electrical, and systems troubleshooting skills; ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
  • Proficient in using service tools, diagnostic equipment, and software.
  • Computer proficiency, including MS Outlook, Excel, Word, and Windows-based applications.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including active listening and clear documentation.
  • Strong communication skills encompassing active listening, friendly manner and writing skills.
  • Proficient in using tools and service test equipment.
  • Ability to pass a sensitive security background check.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Physical capability to lift up to 50 lbs, push/pull equipment weighing up to 1,900 lbs (with assistance), and work in confined or physically demanding environments (bending, crawling, etc.).
