About The Position

Technician Helper Summary: Requires the ability to perform light maintenance and repairs which include lube, oil, and filter changes, balancing and rotation of tires, and flushing cooling systems. This is an entry level position

Requirements

High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
0-6 Month of experience as an automotive or diesel technician

Responsibilities

Performs work as outlined on repair order with efficiency and accuracy, in accordance with dealership and factory standards
Assist other Service Technicians in heavy-duty truck repair
Attend training sessions to gain knowledge and experience
Maintain a neat and orderly work area
Neatly record job summary for all assigned repairs
Participate in required educational training as assigned by Service Manager
Complete required trainings in designated timeframe
Communicates with parts department to obtain needed parts
Saves and tags parts of the job if under warranty or if requested by the customer
Documents all work performed on the repair order
Keeps abreast of machinery defects or malfunctions to supervisor
Maintains and is accountable for all dealership-owned tools and manuals
Operates all tools and equipment in a safe manner
Attends company training as required
Maintains and cleans vehicles and surrounding shop area
Other duties as assigned
