About The Position

This position consists of performing repairs and maintenance on a wide range of construction equipment. The Service Technician’s primary objective is to minimize customer downtime on equipment through quick, accurate services, regular preventive maintenance and minor repairs on equipment and delivery vehicles are performed in the branch shop. The position requires advanced troubleshooting skills with electrical, hydraulic, ignition, pneumatic systems, diesel and gas engines as well as drive trains. Tates Rents is an employee-owned and operated business that has been serving Idaho since 1946.

Requirements

Must have a highly developed mechanical background.
Must provide your own tools
Must be able to provide, understand and complete written and verbal instructions
Maintain a cooperative relationship with co-workers
Must be able to maintain a high degree of patience
Must maintain a professional appearance
Must be able to speak English clearly and write legibly.
Must pass a company drug screen
Must have a valid driver’s license (21 years of age or over for driving positions)
A high school diploma or GED is preferred but not required

Nice To Haves

Ability to speak another language is a plus.

Perform maintenance and repair on a large variety of rental equipment.
Maintenance and repair of hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical systems.
Diagnose and repair a wide variety of gas and diesel engines.
Respond to onsite service calls
Understand and be willing to continually learn about rental equipment in order to recommend the correct action of repair.
Maintain a high level of organization
Perform other duties as requested
