About The Position

Ferrellgas is looking for a Service Technician Apprentice to join our team! You’ll train with some of the most dedicated Service Technicians in the industry, learn what it takes to install propane tanks safely, and find out how to respond to service calls in a timely and efficient manner. After completion of the program, you’ll have the opportunity to advance into a Service Technician role. While training, you’ll work towards obtaining needed licenses and endorsements, at no cost to you!

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Willingness to obtain Commercial driver’s license (Class A or B) with hazmat and tanker endorsement if not currently obtained.
• Good driving record.
• Proficient in speaking, writing, and understanding the English language.

Nice To Haves

• Commercial driver’s license (CDL) Class A or B license with hazmat and tanker endorsement preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist in installations, repairs, and maintenance of propane equipment for retail customers under direct supervision.
• Develop knowledge and train on how to load, secure, transport, deliver, and unload propane to and from specified destinations.
• Assist in inspecting vehicles and notify supervisor of needed equipment, supplies, or routine maintenance.
• Prepare and maintain records in accordance with regulations and company procedures under direct supervision.
• Operate truck in accordance with established safety procedures.
• Provide exceptional customer service by supplying service/safety information and answering inquiries during daily interactions with customers under direct supervision.
• Train with team members who are working on call rotation for after hours and weekend emergency deliveries or response as needed.
• May be required to drive a Bobtail truck based on business needs and/or 'On Call' rotation once qualified.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• May work on propane appliances when needed under direct supervision.
