The Service Technician - Access Control is a vital role at Guardian Access Solutions, responsible for servicing, troubleshooting, and maintaining access control systems and related equipment for clients across various divisions. This position requires a hands-on approach to repair and maintenance, ensuring that all equipment, including parking and access control systems, gates, and overhead doors, operates efficiently and effectively. The technician will engage in computer and communication/network diagnostics and repairs, providing essential training to end users on the correct use and maintenance of their systems. Keeping abreast of the latest software, firmware, and hardware updates is crucial for this role, as is the ability to train and develop other team members. In addition to technical skills, the Service Technician will be responsible for diagnosing and resolving errors and technical problems, performing preventative maintenance on equipment, and installing new systems as needed. Accurate record-keeping of service calls, including time spent, services provided, and materials used, is essential. The technician will also educate customers on preventive maintenance and safety measures, operate company vehicles safely, and maintain a clean and safe working environment by adhering to established procedures and regulations. Regular attendance and flexibility in work hours are expected, along with compliance with safety guidelines and policies. Other job-related duties may be assigned as necessary.
