This position involves performing basic work using clearly prescribed procedures. The role includes responding to customer requests for service, informing customers of needed repairs, and ensuring customer satisfaction with completed work. Responsibilities also include disconnecting service as necessary, performing collection efforts on delinquent accounts, and installing, programming, and operating Wireless Meter Reading (WMR) equipment. The position requires assisting with activities to ensure responsiveness to natural gas and other emergencies, completing and maintaining accurate records and reports, and may involve reading meters and recording usage for billing. The job may require holding stand-by duty, working shifts, holidays, weekends, emergency call outs, and occasional extended hours. The employee is responsible for identifying, addressing, and reporting safety and encroachment issues, ensuring the safe operation and inspection of assigned Company vehicles and equipment, and adhering to the Company's values and safety protocols.

  • Performs basic work using clearly prescribed procedures.

  • Completes and maintains accurate records and reports to comply with Company and regulatory requirements.
  • May read meters and record usage for billing.
  • Identifies, addresses, and reports safety and encroachment issues to their resolution and completion.
  • Is responsible for the safe operation and inspection of assigned Company vehicles and equipment.
  • Demonstrates support for and adheres to the Company's values, strategies, policies and procedures.
  • Requires a general educational knowledge normally acquired through a high school diploma or a General Equivalency Diploma (GED).
  • Requires valid driver's license in accordance with Company standards.
  • Must complete assigned classes, Operator Qualifications (OQ) and OJT specific to Service Learning Path.
  • Must maintain position OQs and any other required OQs and classroom training or certifications.
  • Requires ability to utilize the Company's internet/intranet web site and available resources for data entry, reference and/or retrieval tasks.
