The Service Technician 1 plays a crucial role in this process, being responsible for the installation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of electronic communication systems. This position requires a focus on efficiency and effectiveness to minimize downtime and maximize system performance. The technician must also communicate system performance to customers, ensuring they are informed and satisfied with the services provided. As a Service Technician, the individual will be accountable to the Service Manager and will work closely with other management team members, employees, and customers. The role involves a variety of responsibilities, including the final hookup and programming of electronic equipment for new jobs, responding promptly to service-related issues, testing and documenting system readings, and updating customer files. The technician will also troubleshoot and repair electronic components, handle on-call duties, and train customers on the proper use of equipment. A strong understanding of wiring diagrams, schematics, and blueprints is essential, as is the ability to operate various test equipment such as volt meters and multimeters. The technician will also assist with preventive maintenance and must comply with both company and customer safety programs.
