About The Position

The Service Technician I at MyLand is responsible for delivering exceptional customer service while installing and maintaining algae generation systems. This role involves diagnosing and solving problems, maintaining relationships with growers and irrigators, and ensuring adherence to safety and operational standards. The position requires travel to field sites regionally and includes a targeted 40-hour work week, reporting directly to the Director of Operations.

Requirements

  • At least 1 year's technical service experience, apprenticeship, or relevant work experience.
  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED) is preferred.
  • Prior Agricultural industry experience is preferred.
  • Ability to safely install, repair, service, test, and troubleshoot plumbing, mechanical, and electrical equipment.
  • Ability to work flexible and weekend hours to successfully complete installations and repairs.
  • Excellent written/verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Working knowledge of hand and power tools and personal protective equipment.
  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently with limited supervision.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a forklift certification.
  • Proficient computer skills with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Power Point, Outlook, and Excel).
  • Ability to lift, carry, transport equipment, tools, and materials up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to sit, stand, and kneel/squat for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to work outside in both hot and cold temperatures.
  • Willingness to travel to other locations as needed.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with algae generation systems or similar technology.
  • Knowledge of regenerative agriculture practices.

Responsibilities

  • Adhere to MyLand's company core values.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service by managing relationships between growers and operations employees.
  • Ensure all operation and maintenance activities are performed safely and in accordance with established policies and procedures.
  • Conduct site evaluations for new system installations in coordination with the Startup team.
  • Install Boost algae generation systems with limited supervision and test for correct operation, including plumbing, electrical, mechanical, and chemical applications.
  • Support installation of Thrive algae generation systems.
  • Coordinate system seasonal startup and shutdown with grower crop and irrigation cycles.
  • Perform scheduled maintenance and customer support activities on Boost and Thrive algae generation systems to maximize uptime and distribution of algae.
  • Troubleshoot Boost and Thrive systems to identify, diagnose, and resolve problems.
  • Perform soil sampling and testing in coordination with the Ag Science team.
  • Identify and order parts and supplies for scheduled maintenance and corrective repairs.
  • Maintain record keeping and reporting on services performed, including support for operational KPIs.
  • Support continuous improvement efforts and problem-solving regarding system performance.
  • Train, mentor, and develop Service Technician Is.
  • Lead team in execution of R&D projects as assigned.
  • Perform remote operation of Thrive units from Ignition SCADA interface.
  • Support new market research and plan for entry in coordination with operations leadership.
