About The Position

The Service Supervisor at Albertsons Companies is responsible for providing excellent customer service and ensuring that all customers receive fast, friendly, and accurate checkout service. This role involves assisting with the operations and supervision of the front end, managing customer relations, and overseeing daily reconciliation and cash handling functions to support store sales and operational goals.

Requirements

  • Ability to operate cash register, scale, and other point of sales equipment.
  • Ability to troubleshoot PCs and check stand equipment such as printers and scanners.
  • Knowledge of basic employment law and ability to handle administrative details such as planning and scheduling.
  • Ability to supervise and analyze facts for recommending disciplinary action and making hiring decisions.
  • In-depth understanding of front-end policies and procedures and ability to judge and react to business activity.
  • Mental alertness to ensure safe and accurate completion of work activities.
  • Knowledge of product variety, perishability, safety, and sanitation procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Champion Company and Division customer service programs to meet or exceed Division customer service goals.
  • Handle customer relations positively, including effective resolution of customer complaints.
  • Promote Albertson's philosophy of personalized service.
  • Assist with supervision of front-end operations, monitor and direct customer traffic flow, and ensure cleanliness and appearance of checkout areas.
  • Ensure compliance with Company policies and front-end procedures, including promotions, suggestive sales, and safety protocols.
  • Complete all phases of the reconciliation process by balancing the safe and registers, and entering and balancing all sales and cash transactions.
  • Perform bookkeeping duties, including preparing and proofing daily deposit slips and balancing Accounts Receivable.
  • Maintain sales book and report daily and/or weekly sales information to the division office.
  • Answer and respond to incoming calls accurately and handle intercom messages.
  • Assist with accountability for cash flow requirements, including safe transactions and monitoring cashier funds handling procedures.
  • Ensure scanning file problems are corrected in a timely manner.
  • Responsible for cost and quality control, maintaining awareness of customer and employee safety, and enforcing safety and grooming standards for front-end employees.
  • Act as backup checker and engage in suggestive selling and other sales techniques.
  • Prevent shrink and sale of out-of-code products.
