About The Position

The B1 Service Specialist position at Norfolk Southern involves supporting the safe and orderly operations of Brosnan Forest by providing services in maintenance of facilities, grounds, and forestation. The role includes various customer service activities such as being a professional hunting guide, certified shooting sports instructor, environmental outreach specialist, and guest services professional. The position requires coordination and scheduling of hunting guides, inventory and sales in the Brosnan Forest Gift Shop, and providing audio-visual assistance during executive conferences. Additionally, the specialist will oversee guest check-in to ensure a smooth arrival for guests.

Requirements

Responsibilities

  • Participate in customer service related activities.
  • Coordinate and schedule hunting guides.
  • Manage inventory and sales in the Brosnan Forest Gift Shop.
  • Provide audio-visual assistance during executive conferences.
  • Oversee guest check-in for a smooth arrival experience.
  • Care for sporting bird dogs, including feeding, grooming, and kennel upkeep.
  • Feed and handle game bird species.
  • Handle and care for cattle, including feeding, sorting, and vetting.
  • Build and maintain electric and hard fence pastures.
  • Operate heavy and light equipment safely.
  • Prepare game and sport fish for consumption and transport.
  • Butcher cattle, deer, fish, turkey, and quail using safe food handling techniques.
  • Package meat in game boxes for guest transport.
  • Transport guests safely on and off Brosnan Forest property.
  • Assist with logistical planning and scheduling of flights.
  • Maintain supplemental wildlife feeding areas.
  • Perform road maintenance and engineering.
  • Engage in carpentry and prescribed fire management.
  • Schedule employees and manage logistics.
  • Conduct GIS mapping and order supplies.
  • Register guests during summer and conference seasons.
  • Collect and process data using Microsoft Excel for DNR and Bird Preserve.
  • Create guide maps for hunting season.
  • Perform as a professional musician in the Lawmen Band.
