About The Position

The Service Secretary is responsible for managing and dispatching the workflow through the technician shop from the service advisors on the service drive. Technician tracking reports and other tasks will be included in the duties.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or the equivalent.
  • Ability to read and comprehend instructions and information.
  • Two years of experience in a dealership position.
  • General knowledge of vehicle mechanical operations.
  • Professional personal appearance.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Receive repair orders from the service drive.
  • Prioritize the work based on customer needs, parts supply, tech availability and skill.
  • Communicate with parts department regarding special order parts.
  • Notify service advisor immediately if repair orders have missing documents or errors.
  • Notify service advisor immediately if repairs cannot be completed within the time promised
  • Document workflow, production and efficiency.
  • Monitor tech training requirements are up to date.
  • Road-test vehicles when required, keeping in mind that the customer vehicle should not be used for personal errands.
  • Get and stay up to date on factory-sponsored training classes.
  • Keep abreast of factory technical bulletins.
  • Must follow all company safety policies and procedures, and immediately report any and all accidents to a manager or supervisor.
