About The Position

We're hiring a Service Route Operator to assist in the collection of refuse, recyclables, and yard waste along established routes. Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required.
• At least 1-2 years in a similar role or completion of an apprenticeship/internship.
• Must have a Class B CDL with airbrakes issued by the State of Missouri.
• Strong understanding of solid waste collection operations, vehicle maintenance, and city geography.
• Ability to perform physically demanding tasks in various weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Perform pre- and post-trip vehicle and equipment inspections.
• Operate refuse collection trucks to collect solid waste, recyclables, yard debris, and bulk waste.
• Clean, deliver, and assemble refuse and recycling containers.
• Conduct preventive maintenance and cleaning of assigned vehicles and equipment.
• Assist with snow removal operations when needed.
• Follow all city and departmental safety regulations.
