The Service Representative will be the first impression of the Hospitals services to patients, family members and other external customers. This position is responsible for directing and escorting patients and their families to the correct service area, as well as directing visitors to the appropriate service area. This position maintains a sound knowledge of JCAHO, Patient Rights and Responsibilities, HIPAA, and departmental/System policies and procedures. Must maintain integrity and attention to detail to avoid creating duplicate medical records. This position is responsible for assisting the Patient Access Specialist with assembly and routing of paperwork. Additionally the position is responsible for answering the telephone and directing the caller to the appropriate place. The Service Representative will be required to maintain a basic knowledge of the registration department. This position does not provide patient care, but may be performed in a patient care area.
