About The Position

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business Administration or related field or equivalent combination of training and experience.
  • 3 years sales/account management experience in the health insurance industry which includes direct customer contact, preferably in the individual market and/or dealing with brokers.
  • Ohio Department of Insurance License (Health & Life) (or required to obtain within 4 months of hire).
  • Demonstrates in-depth knowledge of health insurance products; sales and industry processes including underwriting, stop loss, benefit plan design; health care funding arrangements; and related laws/regulations including HIPPA, COBRA, FMLA.
  • Ability to generate leads, make presentations, negotiates and close sales opportunities.
  • Intermediate Microsoft Office skills.

Responsibilities

  • Develops and maintains effective business relationships with assigned brokers to achieve annual sales, retention and financial targets.
  • Consults with agent for an understanding of their business goals, product/service needs, financial situation, and decision making/buying process.
  • Creates procedures to effectively manage the agency to meet individual market growth objectives.
  • Collaborates with Sales Consultant as needed for external meetings/presentations with broker agencies, as well as internal corporate meetings on projects.
  • Provides assistance in finalizing proposals/applications with brokers as well as follow up on any outstanding questions/issues.
  • Maintains knowledge and awareness of the Company's competitive strengths to help achieve differentiation and sales success.
  • Performs other department-specific duties and activities to enhance overall effectiveness and productivity of the team.
  • Maintains/updates information systems to manage sales pipeline, broker and client data, etc.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
