About The Position

The Service Rep I at Aultman Health Foundation serves as the primary contact for enrollees, prospective enrollees, providers, brokers, and companies. This role is essential in ensuring that all callers receive accurate, courteous, and prompt assistance regarding insurance benefits, eligibility, and claims. The representative is expected to maintain a professional demeanor while effectively communicating the positive aspects of AultCare to every caller.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • One year experience in insurance, healthcare, or customer service.
  • Good command of the English language with effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to empathize and understand member/provider needs.
  • Previous experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Ability to type a minimum of 40 wpm.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate degree preferred.
  • One year experience in an automated call center related to insurance or medical field.
  • Knowledge of HMO, PPO, and Medicare plans/benefits.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish.

Responsibilities

  • Responds to customer inquiries via telephone and written correspondence regarding insurance benefits, provider contracts, eligibility, and claims.
  • Answers incoming calls and emails in a courteous and professional manner.
  • Analyzes problems and provides information/solutions.
  • Places follow-up phone calls and emails to answer routine customer questions.
  • Assists with walk-in clients based on department need.
  • Operates a PC or thin client to obtain and extract information.
  • Documents inquiry outcomes for accurate tracking and analysis.
  • Maintains up-to-date tools and resources for effective call resolution.
  • Performs basic job functions with assistance from co-workers and higher-level personnel on complex inquiries.
  • Meets quality and performance metrics.
  • Continuously reviews, recommends, and implements process improvement steps as needed.
  • Portrays a professional image by following dress code and communicating effectively with customers.
  • Practices ethical conduct and meets acceptable attendance and punctuality expectations.
