About The Position

The Service Plumber will apply their technical skills and knowledge in performing diagnostic, service, and installation of plumbing in residential, multi family, light commercial environments and ensure that work is performed in accordance with relevant codes. Responsibilities include assembling, installing, or repairing pipes, fittings, or drainage systems. Proficiency in the operation of cabled drain and sewer equipment repair, replacement of grinder and effluent pumps, and general knowledge of well system and pressure tank operations in accordance with plumbing code specifications. This individual is comfortable interacting with tenants, homeowners, General Contractor supervisors, and fellow staff to collect and deliver technical information as well as introduce invoices and collect payments.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • 5+ years of residential/commercial plumbing experience.
  • Knowledge of local and national plumbing codes.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and drawings.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • OSHA 10 Certification or the ability to complete the course.
  • Basic computer skills, comfortable using Microsoft Office and Word.
  • Maintain courteous and professional demeanor with customers and colleagues.
  • Valid driver’s license and an acceptable motor vehicle record.
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment background check.

Nice To Haves

  • Journeyman Plumber License

Responsibilities

  • Perform residential and light commercial service calls to diagnose and resolve plumbing issues.
  • Identify potential problems to prevent premature and/or unexpected breakdowns/callbacks.
  • Install, repair, and maintain piping systems, fixtures, and equipment.
  • Inspect water, gas, and drainage systems to identify and prevent failures.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications.
  • Measure, cut, assemble, and install pipes and fittings.
  • Test systems and ensure proper functionality.
  • Provide accurate estimates and communicate services clearly to customers.
  • Maintain detailed job documentation and submit paperwork on time.
  • Keep service vehicle, tools, and equipment clean and organized.
  • Follow all safety procedures, codes, and company policies.
  • Coordinate with dispatch and manage materials and parts usage.
  • Maintain safe and efficient operation of tools.
