Mike Counsil Plumbing & Rooter in San Jose, CA is scouting a full-time Service Plumber to join our team. Our Service Plumbers earn a high wage of $25-$45/hour, based upon skill. POSITION SUMMARY The purpose of the Plumbing Technician is to lead a group of plumbers to get a job to be completed on-time an under budget. REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS The Plumbing Technician reports to the Field Supervisor team. The Plumbing Technician supervises the installers and apprentices on their jobs.

Requirements

  • Residential plumbing experience
  • Valid California driver's license and the ability to pass both a background check and drug screening

  • Education Required: High School Diploma or GED
  • Experience Required: At minimum of 2 years as plumber.
  • The ability to diagnose plumbing issues
  • The ability to read technical documents and asses the building needs and pipe/plumbing fixture plans.
  • Ability to perform must plumbing tasks
  • Ability to train apprentice plumbers
  • Ability to explain the value of preventive maintenance to our clients
  • Maintain a safe work environment
  • Ability to learn word and excel as well a Evernote and Successware 21.
  • Body Positions: The ability to stand or sit for up to 8 hours per day.
  • Body Movements: Ability to crawl under a home and diagnose problems
  • Strength: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Mathematical: The ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide as well as now fractions.
  • Language: Be able to give and receive directions in English, Spanish is a plus.
  • Mechanical: Ability to read a ruler and convert fractions as necessary. Ability to fix most plumbing problems.
  • Climate: Ability to work both indoors and out in the Northern California whether.
  • Travel: Ability to travel up to 1hour each way to assist in a job.
  • Hours: A minimum of 8 hours a day 5 days a week with occasional overtime.

Nice To Haves

  • Preferred: College Degree
  • Preferred: Minimum 2 years as a Plumbing Technician in a large plumbing company

Responsibilities

  • Ensure that all permits are filed for on a timely basis
  • That all jobs are closed out timely and last payments are collected.
  • Only emergency overtime is being worked.
  • Quality assurance through complete customer satisfaction and no call-backs on completed jobs.
  • Request and Assign all install staff on his jobs
  • Direct the hours of their staff to reduce or eliminate overtime.
  • Ensure all permits needed are requested timely and accurately
  • Assist operations in the development and updating of policies and procedures
  • Participate in Zoom meetings and help facilitate training to myself and the team
  • Getting jobs completed on time and under budget
  • Minimal Field Overtime
  • Maintain all OHSA’s safety requirements on all jobs.
  • All jobs are closed out timely, inspections completed and final payment received
