About The Position

The Service Person I position at the City of Great Bend involves performing skilled and semi-skilled tasks related to the maintenance and care of city park facilities. This role is essential for ensuring that park areas are well-maintained and safe for public use, under the supervision of the Park Supervisor.

Requirements

• Ability to perform skilled and semi-skilled maintenance tasks.
• Experience with landscaping and park maintenance.
• Familiarity with hand and power tools.
• Basic knowledge of plumbing and irrigation systems.

Responsibilities

• Mows, trims, and irrigates park grounds.
• Fertilizes and seeds park areas as needed.
• Irrigates, trims, maintains, and removes trees in park areas as necessary.
• Assists in the repair of park buildings, structures, and various park equipment.
• Assists in painting, performing minor plumbing jobs, minor irrigation system repairs, welding, etc.
• Forms and pours concrete.
• Uses a variety of hand and power tools.
• Responds to after-hours emergencies.
• Paints and repairs tables, benches, and other park equipment.
• Helps collect trash and clean and service restrooms.
• Performs other duties as assigned or required.
