The Test Engineer will be responsible for utilizing the ServiceNow framework to conduct both manual and automated testing for various projects. This role requires the creation, delivery, and maintenance of a comprehensive test plan that outlines the methodology, approach, techniques, and types of tests to be performed. The Test Engineer will be involved in unit/component testing, integration testing, regression testing, performance testing, and user acceptance testing for all new integration and design projects. In this position, the Test Engineer will execute unit/component test procedures for all project components, create and execute integration test procedures, and coordinate user acceptance testing. The role also involves conducting performance tests and regression tests, ensuring that all components, including applications, modules, and user interfaces, meet the required standards. The Test Engineer will support the current production system by participating in break/fix and enhancement efforts, which includes reviewing requirements, formulating tests, preparing test scenarios, executing tests, and summarizing test results. Documentation and analysis of test results are crucial aspects of this role, as the Test Engineer will produce status reports and assist with the defect management process. The ability to perform requirement analysis independently and create high-quality test products, including test plans, test cases, and test reports, is essential. The Test Engineer will also assist with technical artifacts such as the Requirements Traceability Matrix, Use Cases, and User Interface Specifications. Additionally, the role requires accurate estimation of testing efforts for project planning and tracking, as well as regular reporting of testing results to the architecture team and stakeholders. The Test Engineer will monitor defects to ensure timely progress and adherence to defect tracking standards, and will also run performance benchmarks and conduct performance tuning as needed. Overall, this position demands a proactive approach to identifying potential improvements in testing processes and work products, along with the ability to provide informal demonstrations to staff and customers as part of the testing efforts.
