Service Mechanic (Day Shift)

About The Position

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES Prepare equipment for repairing by pressure washing, blasting, painting etc. Check all structural and mechanical components for defects. Make any necessary repairs and replace broken parts. Calibrate equipment and paint exterior surfaces. Be able to lead projects in the shop. Identify and order parts for shop jobs. Provide assistance to others in difficult repair tasks. Assist in training new shop personnel. Comply with all NOV Company and HSE policies and procedures. Perform other work-related tasks as assigned. FACILITY/GROUP SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES Removing components, rebuilding and reassembly. Diagnosing failures using measuring tools to support the root cause.

Requirements

  • Must possess a high school diploma, GED, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum 5 years’ mechanical experience required.
  • 10 years of mechanical knowledge in basic mechanics required.
  • Heavy equipment maintenance and repair experience required.
  • Forklift experience required.
  • Ability to pass a drug screen & background check.
  • Must have basic and advance Mechanic tools.
  • Must be able to use hands to handle, control, or feel objects and tools.
  • Ability to diagnose defects with assistance of drawings required.
  • Ability to assemble and test components with drawings required.
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical and dimensional detail drawings required.
  • Ability to read and interpret interconnect and wiring diagrams required.
  • Ability to read and interpret hydraulic schematics required.
  • Ability to adapt and be cross-trained to learn all job duties.
  • Factory environment with a large range in temperature changes.
  • Ability to frequently stand, walk, crouch, crawl or kneel required for extended periods of time required.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds required.
  • Ability to work at heights from 20’ to 100’ required.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with SMAW and GMAW with the ability to pass 3G and 4G plate test preferred.
