About The Position
West Central Equipment, the John Deere Ag and Turf equipment dealership in central and western Pennsylvania, is seeking a manager to lead the Service Department at our Butler Store. The right candidate has good people and leadership skills. West Central Equipment and John Deere provide excellent training and experience for future career growth. High quality customer satisfaction and communications ability is required for this position. PURPOSE Manages service operations within the dealership location to ensure customer satisfaction and maximize return on investment by optimizing service department processes. Grows profitable service labor sales and exercises disciplined expense control. Attracts, retains and assists with development of department personnel.
Requirements
- 1+ years of experience leading a service department
- Supervisory experience
- Experience with off road, construction, lawn, or heavy equipment
- Experience with basic computer functions
- Experience leading and working cooperatively in a team environment
- Effective communications ability, verbal and written
- High School Diploma
- Must be willing to download company apps on your personal phone
Responsibilities
- Communicates, enforces and monitors service department processes to ensure customer satisfaction
- Creates annual location service department goals and budget, in alignment with the organization’s financial and operational objectives
- Executes service department marketing plan with the direction from corporate service manager and marketing manager
- Ensures that service warranty and Product Improvement Program claims are completed within the required timeframe to receive maximum credit
- Schedules and assigns jobs and work areas to employees in the service department according to their skills and knowledge
- Reviews work orders for completeness and accuracy prior to customer billing
- Assists with the development and training of service personnel and completes performance reviews of service staff
- Maintains knowledge of John Deere and competitive products
