Swope Nissan is seeking an experienced and motivated Service Manager to lead our service department with integrity, efficiency, and a strong commitment to guest satisfaction. This role is responsible for overseeing daily operations, developing a high-performing team, and ensuring exceptional service standards while driving department performance and profitability.

Requirements

  • Three to Five years of experience in an auto repair facility
  • Two plus years of supervisory experience
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proficient knowledge of dealership computer systems
  • Must have a valid driver’s license
  • Ability to drive manual transmission vehicles
  • Demonstrated customer service skills
  • Will be required to complete a drug screen and background check.

  • Previous industry knowledge of overall operations, management and wholesale relations (preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Hire, train and supervise service department associates.
  • Inspire and motivate team to attain sales goals.
  • Keep proper documentation as stipulated by manufacturer and general manager.
  • Nurture enthusiastic work environment promoting teamwork with other departments.
  • Organize weekly department meetings.
  • Build repeat/referral business by encouraging service employees to nurture positive relationships with guests.
  • Verify employees understand and comply with applicable policies and manufacturer warranties.
  • Promote professional development and advance training opportunities.
  • Conduct random checks to ensure vehicle repairs conform to the highest dealership standards.
  • Resolve guest concerns, enlisting manufacturer assistance when necessary.
  • Handle warranty claims and processing, conforming to warranty guidelines.
  • Explain warranty to the guest.
  • Create service pricing plans and submit recommendations to general manager.
  • Act as dealership liaison for manufacturer representatives.
  • Develop programs or procedures to improve profitability.
  • Organize recruiting events at regional vocational/technical institutes.
  • Attend manager meetings
  • Possess basic math skills.
  • Be capable of speaking with guests or employees; reading/understanding manuals, operating and maintenance instructions, and safety regulations; and writing financial/marketing reports and other correspondence.
  • Stay current on industry trends, tools and advancements, and make appropriate purchase recommendations.
  • Ensure tools and equipment are operated in a safe manner at all times, and shop/customer waiting areas are kept clean and orderly.
  • Understand and comply with current and future federal, state, and local regulations affecting body shop operations, such as handling of paint and paint thinners, hazardous waste disposal, the OSHA Hazard Communication Standard, etc.
  • Be professional and courteous in attitude, wardrobe and grooming.
  • Complete other duties as assigned.
