About The Position

The Service Manager will oversee the service department, driving operational success and ensuring exceptional guest experiences. This role involves managing employee schedules, forecasting departmental goals, collaborating with the Parts Manager, and maintaining service quality and safety standards. The Service Manager will also handle customer complaints, motivate and develop employees, and maintain Asbury's values and integrity.

Requirements

  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Ability to manage, motivate, and develop a team.
  • Experience with CDK or other automotive software.
  • Strong technical aptitude.
  • Proven track record in growing fixed operation business.
  • 3+ years as an automotive Service Writer/Service Assistant Manager.
  • Previous automotive Service Management experience.
  • Ability to manage in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Must pass pre-employment screens (background & drug test).

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the service department and drive operational success.
  • Manage employee schedules and pay plans.
  • Forecast goals and objectives for the department.
  • Work with the Parts Manager to ensure timely turnaround of parts.
  • Collaborate with shop foreman to ensure proper servicing of customer vehicles.
  • Attend manager meetings and conduct service department meetings.
  • Prepare and administer an annual operating budget for the service department.
  • Maintain customer pay gross profit growth.
  • Ensure technician proficiency as per Asbury standards.
  • Partner with technical schools to recruit technicians.
  • Partner with OEM and other third-party vendors.
  • Handle and resolve customer complaints.
  • Motivate, train, develop, and reward employees.
  • Communicate effectively with customers about maintenance and service work.
  • Provide and maintain a safe workplace for employees and customers.
  • Perform other duties as determined by management.
